Lisa Stevens

Choreographer

Lisa Stevens is an international, Emmy Award-nominated Choreographer with credits spanning the globe. She was the Artistic Director for the National Artists Program during the Canada Winter Games, Choreographer for the Victory Ceremonies at the 2010 Winter Olympics and penned and produced two Bollywood shorts Tauba Tauba and Shakalaka Bombay. Lisa was recently honoured with an induction into UNESCO’S CID (Conseil International de la Danse) the official umbrella organization which recognizes prominent federations, organizations and selected individuals in all forms dance worldwide.

Choreography includes: Disney’s High School Musical Live (US, UK and Australia Tour); the world premiere of Disney’s High School Musical 2 Live (UK Tour); Bombay Dreams (US Tour); Broadway Bares 2018 Game Night “Parcheesi” (Hammerstein Ballroom, New York); Coriolanus (Bard on the Beach, Vancouver); 9 to 5 The Musical (US and UK Tour); West Side Story (Drayton Entertainment, Canada) The Witches of Eastwick (The Ogunquit Playhouse, USA); the World Premier of The Little Prince (Theatre Calgary); Prom Queen the musical (Grand Theatre, Canada); Cutman: A Boxing Musical (Goodspeed Opera House, USA); Mary Poppins (Theatre Calgary, Canada); Mamma Mia (The New Theatre, Kansas City; The Grand Theatre, Canada; The Confederation Centre Canada); and a musical documentary film – Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas (CBC/ BBC 4).

Work as Director/Choreographer includes: Executive Decision (Hudson Guild Theater, New York); Grease! (Toronto Elgin Winter Garden); Footloose (Randolph Theater, Toronto); The Fabulous Lipitones, Mamma Mia (The New Theatre, Kansas City) and In The Heights (Vancouver Arts Club).

Awards and nominations include: Recognition from the Broadway World Awards for excellence in Original Choreography for West Side Story (Drayton Entertainment, Canada); The Witches of Eastwick (The Ogunquit Playhouse, USA); Mary Poppins (Theatre Calgary, Canada) and Mamma Mia (The New Theatre, Kansas City); Theatre Critic Awards for Best Choreography and 9 Sterling Award nominations for Mary Poppins (Theatre Calgary, Canada); Betty Mitchell Award for Best Choreography for Anne of Green Gables (Theatre Calgary, Canada); Betty Mitchell Award Nomination in Outstanding Original Choreography for Cats (Theatre Calgary, Canada). Most recently Lisa was nominated for an International Emmy Award in Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas (CBC/BBC 4).
