Patricia Resnick is an L.A. based writer and producer of films, television and theatre. Writer of the original screenplay for the film 9 to 5, a comedy classic and one of the top-grossing films of all time. She was co-Executive Producer on Netflix’s Armistead Maupin’s Tales of The City starring Laura Linney and Ellen Page. Other recent television credits include Consulting Producer on multiple hour dramas including the final season of Mad Men.

After graduating from USC, Resnick, under the tutelage of her mentor Robert Altman, co-authored A Wedding (British Academy Award and Writer’s Guild nominations) and Quintet starring Paul Newman. Other films include Maxie (Glenn Close) and Straight Talk, which reunited her with Dolly Parton. She has written numerous pilots for television for networks including Showtime, CBS and FX and her seven produced made for television movies include The Battle of Mary Kay starring Shirley MacLaine and Parker Posey who both gave Golden Globe-nominated performances.

Her theatre work includes her Drama Desk nominated book for the Broadway 9 to 5 the Musical which garnered four Tony nominations and sketches for Lily Tomlin’s first one-woman Broadway show Appearing Nightly.
